    Harley, farewell baby girl

If you follow me on Instagram, you will know that we had to say goodbye to Harley in April. It is a loss that has left our family devastated.

Harley Quinn certainly lived up to her name. A Whole lot of pretty and a whole lot of crazy. Taken from us way too soon, she just turned 9.

We are shattered beyond belief. Our hearts are crushed to have had to kiss her goodbye.

Harley hadn't been 100% well for a few weeks, and after a couple of weeks of tests, we found out that she had a 5x7 cm tumour on her kidney that had aggressively metastasised to her lungs.

There was no cure, and chemo would have maybe given her another few weeks, but she would have suffered from the side effects. Having experienced chemo with Sally, we knew the kinder option was to make Harley's time left with us as joyful as possible.

We chose palliative care so she could enjoy her last days eating the best cuts of steak, lamb and all the treats her little heart desired.

We didn't think we would be lucky enough to enjoy Easter with her, but through palliative care, we shared that special time.

Shortly after Easter, Harley's breathing became laboured. We had to make a very hard decision, but the right one for her.

It has now been a couple of months since I've been talked back to and had debates with an opinionated husky. But she is having the last laugh as I'm still finding her floof around the house.

The past eight years have been an absolute ride, a joy, and an honour. She was loved, left a mark in our hearts and will always be missed dearly.
